The Blue Project, including the Blue Mile has been nominated for the Beyond Sport Awards 2011 for the Sport for Environment category.
35 organisations have been selected from almost 400 projects worldwide that entered this year’s Awards. Each nominated project will be invited to Cape Town, South Africa for the Beyond Sport Summit in December 5-8. The winners will be announced at the culmination of the Summit, where they will receive a massive package of support and global recognition.
Additionally, nominees will receive exclusive opportunities and benefits in the run up to the Summit, such as eligibility for grants and funds through Beyond Sport’s network; promotion through Beyond Sport’s media partner outlets including TIME, Fortune, and CNN; and special invites to Beyond Sport’s additional high profile events including Beyond Sport United, taking place at Yankee Stadium in New York in September.
As a nominated project, The blue Project will also be receiving additional support and opportunities in the run up to the Summit, including:
-The opportunity to be selected by CNN to be one of the featured projects for their Beyond Sport Week segment
-A free invitation to Beyond Sport United in New York City at Yankee Stadium on September 27th
-Exclusive invitation to PwC masterclasses on subjects such as fundraising, sustainable replication, succession planning, and communications.
-Eligibility to specific funding and support opportunities available through Beyond Sport’s clients specifically for Awards nominee
